Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026 · 72h by wait, what. (Tobias Temmen)
72h does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. The app works fully offline after installation. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party tracking SDKs.
Data stored on your device
Information you enter in the app is stored locally on your device only:
- Checklists — ticked items and progress
- Bookmarks and reading progress
- My Plan — emergency contacts, meeting points, medication, and personal numbers, encrypted on your device (Keychain / Keystore)
- Settings — language and appearance preferences
- Offline map — downloaded map tiles cached on your device
You can delete all personal data at any time in Settings → Delete all my data.
Optional permissions
- Face ID / Touch ID / device passcode — optional lock for My Plan. Biometric data is handled by the operating system; 72h never sees or stores it.
- Contacts — optional, only when you tap “add from contacts” to prefill an emergency contact. Contact data is not uploaded.
- Location — optional, only to centre the offline map and download tiles for your area. Location is not transmitted to our servers (we have none).
Network use
The handbook content, search index, and checklists are bundled in the app and work without internet. The only network use is:
- Offline map download — fetches map tiles from MapTiler when you explicitly start a download (requires internet once).
MapTiler receives standard HTTP requests for map tiles during download. See MapTiler’s privacy policy for their handling of those requests.
Children
72h is a general emergency-preparedness reference app. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes
We may update this policy. The current version is always at 72h.app/privacy.
